BIOGRAPHY

López was born as María Natalia Viviana Francisca López in La Ordeña, near the city of Moroleón, Guanajuato, Mexico.

In 1924, she married Marcelino López and celebrated with a party that lasted three days. Their first child, Ester, was born in 1925. They had five more children: Consuelo (born 1928), Miguel (born 1934), Refugio (born 1936), a daughter in 1939 and a son in 1945. She had six more children who died in infancy.

At the age of 48, she was bitten by a venomous snake on her foot while riding a horse down a road. She was able to recover. In 1965, the family immigrated to the United States. They lived in Salinas, California for many years.

Her husband passed away in 1990. Following his death, she moved in with her granddaughter in Imperial Valley, California. At the age of 100, in 2006, she became an US citizen.

At the age of 110, she was still able to stand and walk. At the time, she had 36 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. [source] At the time, she was still living in Imperial Valley near the Mexican border, however, she moved to Mexico sometime after the birthday.

López passed away in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, on 14 September 2017, at the age of 110.

RECOGNITION

Her age was validated by the LAS in January 2020.
