Maria Brandes was an Austro-Hungarian-born German supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.
Maria Brandes was born in Trnava, Austria-Hungary (now Slovakia) on 11 August 1902. She moved Vienna, Austria at the age 8 and she met the emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria.
She worked in the administrative office of the Burgtheater and, after getting married, moved to Germany. At the age of 76, she remained active, working as a department store detective in Munich. She ended up spending her final years in a nursing home.
