LongeviQuest is saddened to report the passing of an anonymous lady on 18 July, at the age of 113 years and 12 days.
Born in Japan on 6 July 1912, she had only recently celebrated her 113th birthday. At some point in her life, she emigrated to Brazil, where she spent her later years.
Over the years, several Japanese-born individuals have been documented among Brazil’s supercentenarians, but this woman was the oldest ever recorded in that category. At the time of her passing, she was the sixth-oldest known living person in Brazil.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones during this difficult time.
