Bienvenida Aguilar Aizprúa was a Panamanian supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Latin American Supercentenarians (LAS). At the time of death, she was the second-oldest known living person in Panama.

BIOGRAPHY

Bienvenida Aguilar Aizprúa was born in Santa Fe, Veraguas, Panama, on 22 April 1909. Her parents were Arcesio Aguilar and Placida Aizprúa. She had nine children (five alive as of January 2016).

As of January 2016, she had 43 grandchildren, 115 great-grandchildren, and 22 great-great-grandchildren.

Her younger sister, Generosa Aguilar Aizprúa (4 February 1915 – 1 December 2022) died at the age of 107.

Aguilar Aizprua died in Chilibre, Panamá District, Panamá Province, Panama on 24 March 2020 at the age of 110 years, 337 days.

RECOGNITION

Her age was verified by Jeffrey Xu, Stefan Maglov and Fabrizio Villatoro in 2019, and later validated by the LAS.

At that time of her death, she was the second-oldest (known) living person in Panama, behind Elvira Paredes de Samaniego.
