Alfred Blaschke, the oldest known living man in Texas, USA, celebrated his 109th birthday in Georgetown on 4 January.
Blaschke was born in Janesville, Wisconsin, on 4 January 1917. In 1924, his family relocated to Milwaukee. Blaschke later left Wisconsin, moving first to Indiana, then to Arizona, and eventually settling in Texas. While working in sales along the East Coast, he met Eleanor, whom he later married. They had one son together. It was a second marriage for both of them, and Eleanor passed away in 2010—on the couple’s 49th wedding anniversary.
In 2017, he made his first skydive to celebrate his 100th birthday, vowing to jump again when his twin grandsons graduated from college. Three years later, at the age of 103, he fulfilled that promise by leaping from a moving plane at 14,000 feet.
In November 2023, at 106, he did it once more—this time alongside Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who made his first-ever skydive in a tandem jump from approximately 8,000 feet above the suburbs between Austin and San Antonio.
LongeviQuest extends warm congratulations to Alfred Blaschke on his 109th birthday.
