Georgette Huard, a resident of Sées, Normandy, France, passed away on 23 December, at the age of 113 years, 29 days.

Huard was born in the commune of Le Havre in the Seine-Maritime department in the Normandy, on 24 November 1912. Her father died in the First World War.

In June 1942, she married Georges Huard and later had a son, Jean. The family first arrived in Orne in 1949, settling in Vimoutiers after Georges was transferred for work. Previously an accountant in a hardware store, Georgette left her job to care for their son. After retiring, the couple moved to Vire, in the Calvados region. In 1992, they relocated to Sées, to the Jean-Bazin residence, to be closer to their son and spend more time with their grandchildren. Sadly, they arrived in October, and her husband passed away just two months later, in December.

At the time of her passing, she was the nation’s third-oldest living resident, after Marie-Rose Tessier and Madeleine Dellamonica.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Georgette Huard during this difficult time.
