Birgit Johansson, the oldest living person in Sweden, is celebrating her 110th birthday today in Gothenburg, according to TV4 Nyheterna.
Johansson was born in Gothenburg on 9 December 1915. Before retiring, she ran a hat shop in Frölunda Square in Gothenburg, which later expanded to include bags and gloves. She also worked as a model.
According to her nephew, she had been a businesswoman her entire life. He added that he believed the secret to her longevity was that she stayed active and maintained a strong zest for life. On her 110th birthday, Birgit said she felt satisfied and happy with all she had accomplished. When asked if there was anything left she wished to do, she replied, “No, nothing special.”
On 23 April 2025, following the passing of 110-year-old Annie Sjöström, she became the oldest living person in Sweden.
LongeviQuest extends warm congratulations to Birgit Johansson on her 110th birthday.
