Edna Hayes, a resident of Wyoming, New South Wales, Australia, celebrated her 110th birthday on 1 November.
Edna Hayes was born in Rockdale, New South Wales, on 1 November 1915. She was the eldest of four children and grew up in Marrickville. A keen dancer, she met her husband, Stanley Edward Hayes, through a group of friends who all danced together as teenagers. They married in 1938 in Canterbury. They continued their shared love of dancing throughout their married life.
She trained in shorthand and clerical work, and worked in a number of clerical roles across Sydney. Later, she sold Avon cosmetics and skincare for 19 years. She also enjoyed playing tennis for many years. After moving into a retirement village, she continued to regularly play bingo, join in activities, and enjoy playing cards.
