Vieno Nurmilaukas, Finland’s Oldest Resident, Turns 108

Vieno Nurmilaukas, the oldest living person in Finland, celebrated her 108th birthday in Savitaipale, South Karelia, on 23 September. Her birthday was first reported by Savon Sanomat.

Vieno Nurmilaukas was born on 23 September 1917.

In July 2025, following the passing of 108-year-old Helena Honkanen of Uusimaa, she became the oldest known living person in Finland.
