Ginette Saint-Louis-Augustin, a resident of Saint-Esprit, Martinique, France. celebrated her 111th birthday on 17 September, according to Saint-Esprit’s Facebook page.

Ginette Saint-Louis-Augustin was born in Riviere-Salée, Martinique, on 17 September 1914. She grew up in Fort-de-France as one of ten siblings. A former accountant at EDF, she also dedicated many years to teaching catechism. She is the adoptive mother of Marie-Lise Saint-Louis. Today, her family spans three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

On her birthday, she was honored with a visit from Mr. Athanase Mondésir, Deputy Mayor and Vice-President of the CCAS, who joined in the celebration held especially for her.

She is currently the second-oldest person in Martinique, after Marie-Dominique Zadick.
