Zdenko Premzl, a resident of Križevci, Koprivnica-Križevci County, Croatia, celebrated his 106th birthday on 25 July, according to prigorski.hr.

Premzl was born in Križevci, Croatia (then Kingdom of Yugoslavia), on 25 July 1919. In 1945, he married Olga Marija, and they were married for 71 years, until her passing in 2016. The couple had a daughter, Štefanija. In addition to his 78-year-old daughter, he also has two granddaughters and six great-grandchildren, all of whom are living in the United States.

Although his parents wanted him to pursue an academic path like his brother, he had other plans. He spent four months training as an accountant in the city administration, with the understanding that he would be taught the role and eventually become a deputy upon returning from military service. However, after completing his time in the army, he needed to earn more money to build a house. This led him to take up work as a butcher in Križevci. Alongside his trade, he also graduated from music school and played the violin in the city orchestra.

At the age of 100, he shared that he had never smoked or consumed alcohol, and that he always preferred to drink water.

At the moment, he is the oldest known living man in Croatia.

LongeviQuest extends warm congratulations to Zdenko Premzl on his 106th birthday.
