Annie Hopkins, a resident of Sweetwater, Texas, USA, celebrated her 111th birthday on 14 July, according to KTXS.
Hopkins was born as Annie Thornton in Mount Pleasant, Texas, on 14 July 1914. She worked as a secretary, and married World War II veteran Harold Hopkins in Roby, Texas, on 5 July 1960. The couple had no children. Hopkins was widowed on 20 January 2014 when her husband died aged 94.
