Pauline Bernadette Tinas, a resident of Gros-Morne in the French overseas department of Martinique, died on 19 July, aged 111 years, 124 days.
Tinas was born in Le Lamentin, Martinique, France, on 17 March 1914. She gave birth to 9 children. She worked as a farmer in the cane fields.
At the age of 110, seven of her children were still alive, and she had over 200 living descendants, reportedly including a great-great-great-great-granddaughter, which made her one of only several recorded people to have six generations of descendants while still alive. Her favorite dish was pork stew.
At the time of her passing, she was the second-oldest living person in Martinique, after Marie-Dominique Zadick.
