Marguerite Chatard, a resident of the commune of Villars-les-Dombes in the Ain department, passed away on 6 January, at the age of 110 years, 222 days. Her death was confirmed through her public obituary on Libra Memoria.
Marguerite Chatard was born in Aix-les-Bains in the Savoie department, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France, on 29 May 1914. Demonstrating exceptional skill in drawing, she enrolled at the School of Fine Arts in Lyon. Following her graduation, she dedicated approximately ten years to honing her talent as an illustrator.
At the time of her passing, she was the second-oldest living person in the French region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, behind Marie-Louise Pellet, according to data from Les Grands Centenaires Français and the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO).
