Faenza, Emilia-RomagnaClaudia Baccarini, the oldest living person in Italy, celebrated her 114th birthday on October 13th.

Baccarini was born in Faenza, Emilia-Romagna, Italy on 13 October 1910. At some point, she married Pietro Baldi, who served as the Mayor of Faenza from 1951 to 1956. The couple had 10 children. In 2021, she was still in good health, attending mass every afternoon, and still mentally sharp, despite facing some vision problems. It was reported that she consistently consumed light meals, accompanied by moderate amounts of wine, and that she had never smoked.

On 17 November 2023, following the death of 113-year-old Domenica Ercolani, she became the oldest living person in Italy. She is the first person in Italy to turn 114 since Maria Giuseppa Robucci did so in March 2017. Currently, she is the third-oldest living person in Europe and among the ten oldest people in the world.
