Julia McDougal was a validated American supercentenarian known as one of the oldest residents in California, at the time of her death.

Julia McDougal was born on 8 February 1912 in Grayling, Crawford County, Michigan, United States.

At the age of 10, McDougal survived both measles and scarlet fever and also survived cancer later in her life.

During the 1930s, as a young adult, she worked as a secretary at Ayers & Son Advertising for 80 cents per hour.

McDougal was married thrice. She had three children with his first husband, who was her high school sweetheart.  Her husband was in the military, and after World War II’s end, the family lived in Germany and France.

McDougal and her family eventually returned to the United States, settling in Browns Valley, California in 1954.

McDougal was first noted for her longevity on her 100th birthday when she was congratulated by the book club she belonged to. Her 109th birthday was recognised by the Marysville Appeal-Democrat.

Julia McDougal passed away on 19 December 2022 in Marysville, Yuba County, California, United States, at 110 years old. A Find A Grave page was made for her by her grandson after her death.
