Rignhild Kwapil was a validated American supercentenarian who died in 2004 at the age of 111.
Rignhild Kwapil was born in Racine, Wisconsin on 2 February 1893. After attending school and completing business courses, Kwapil worked in the foreign trade department of an international chocolate company. She was a wife and a mother.
Following her husband’s death in 1961, she moved in with her son’s family, traveling with them due to his work relocations. Eventually settling in Fairhope, Alabama, she remained active until a broken hip in her 90s.
Kwapil died in Fairhope, Alabama on 19 February 2004, at the age of 111 years, 17 days. She was survived by her son, two grandsons, and two great-grandchildren.
