LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Carrie King of the United States at age 112. She was born in Monroe County, Ohio, United States on 10 October 1878. She was a sister, a wife, and a mother to 7 children.
A fire in 1915 forced the King family to flee their farm, losing everything. They rebuilt in an abandoned schoolhouse for three years before returning to Ohio, settling on a larger farm near Hannibal. King’s son took over the farm until it was sold in 1955. King moved to New Martinsville but required nursing care due to a hip fracture in 1975. She then left to stay in Parkersburg. At 105, she remained active, writing, reading, and socializing at Parkview Health Care Center.
King passed away at Parkview Health Care Center in Parkersburg, West Virginia, USA, on 1 January 1991, at the age of 112 years, 83 days. She was survived by three children, 14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren. At the time of her passing, she was the second-oldest living person in the U.S. state of West Virginia, behind Ettie Mae Greene.
LongeviQuest congratulates Carrie King’s family on her posthumous recognition.
