LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Lilly Barnes of the United States at age 110. She was born in Robeson County, North Carolina, United States on 5 November 1875. Barnes lived a life deeply rooted in education and community. After attending local schools and teaching herself, she became an educator for several years before marrying in 1902. With her husband, a fellow teacher, they raised two children who also pursued careers in education.

Barnes’ faith played a central role in her life, starting with her baptism at Back Swamp Baptist Church at 12. She taught Sunday School for 50 years and was a founding member of the Women’s Missionary Society. Even in her centenarian years, she remained active, holding various positions in the Back Swamp Home Decoration Club and receiving an honorary membership in its successor, The Challengers Club.
