Biography

Sakae Kadota was born in Japan on 25 September 1904.

Kadota cooked by herself until she was about 100 years old. She told the public relations paper of Kanda Town about her secret to long life: ”I eat as many vegetables as possible, I walk around the house, I don’t drink alcohol, I keep a diary every day.”

Sakae Kadota passed away in Kanda, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, on 12 January 2017, at the age of 112.

Recognition

In 2009, at the age of 105, Kanda was featured on the cover of the town’s public relations paper as the oldest living person in the town.

From 2012 to 2016, she was listed on Fukuoka Prefecture’s list of the oldest living residents every year. At the time of her passing, she was the third-oldest living person in the Prefecture, after Kane Tanaka and the anonymous lady of Kitakyushu.

Her age was verified by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW), as well as Yumi Yamamoto, and validated by LongeviQuest on 25 May 2023.
