Ruth Catherine Dodd (née Campbell) was an American supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.

Biography

Dodd was born in Eldon, Missouri, USA, on 2 July 1909, as the first of three children born to parents Samuel Campbell (1886–1967) and Margaret Matilda Cardwell (1888–1986). Her younger siblings were Kenneth Campbell and Elora Erickson (1922–2023). In 1918, the family moved to Seattle, Washington.

At the age of 15, she graduated from Garfield High School, and from Wilson Business College the following year. She got her first job at a local lumber company, as a secretary.

In 1931, she married Charles Gordon Dodd (1907–1966). The couple had two children: Lawrence Gordon Dodd and Pamela Corpman. During World War II, she worked as a chief clerk for the local ration board. After her husband’s death, she worked as Portfolio Clerk in the investment department of Pacific National Bank (now Wells Fargo Bank).

Dodd passed away in Seattle, Washington, USA, on 13 August 2019, at the age of 110 years, 42 days. She was survived by her two children, 4 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
