Natsu Kazato (Japanese: 風戸ナツ) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living person in Chiba Prefecture.


Natsu Kazato was born in Chōsei Village, Chōsei District, Chiba Prefecture, Japan, on 22 June 1906. After graduating from a teacher training school, she worked as an elementary school teacher for 20 years.

After she lost her husband (who was a Shintō priest) in her early 60s, she entered Kokugakuin University’s School of Theology at the age of 65. She acquired the qualification of a Shintō priest and followed her late husband’s footsteps, working as a priest until she was 92. She was able to play the piano at the age of 105.

Natsu Kazato passed away in Chōnan, Chiba Prefecture, Japan, on 23 June 2018, a day after her 112th birthday.

At the age of 106, she became the oldest living person in the town of Chōnan.

On 11 December 2017, following the death of 112-year-old Mine Suzuki of Chiba City, she became the oldest living person in Chiba Prefecture, at the age of 111.

Her age was verified by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW), as well as Stefan Maglov, Yu Li and Yumi Yamamoto, and validated by LongeviQuest on 25 May 2023.
