Michi Ideo (Japanese: 井手尾ミチ) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest. At the time of death, she was the oldest living person in Nagasaki Prefecture.

Biography

Michi Ideo was born in Iōjima (now part of Nagasaki City), Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan, on 15 March 1911. She had seven children.

Until the age of 99, she traveled by herself, shopping and eating outside on her own.

Michi Ideo passed away in Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan, on 8 November 2022, at the age of 111.

Recognition

On 7 September 2021, following the death of Fumi Otani, she became the oldest living person in Nagasaki Prefecture.

Upon her death, Harue Ogawa (13 Apr 1913 – 9 Feb 2023) became the oldest living person in Nagasaki Prefecture. Ideo was the last surviving person in the Prefecture born in the Meiji period.

Her age was verified by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW), as well as Ryohei Asano and Yu Li, and validated by LongeviQuest on 3 July 2023.
