Mary Georgia Lundahl was an American supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.

Biography

Lundahl was born in Mequon, Wisconsin, USA, on 20 December 1878, to parents Olaf Lundahl (1850–1921) and Henrietta Sophia Louise Geier (1843–1936). Her father was born in Sweden, and her mother was born in Germany. They got married in Germany, where a few of her siblings were born, and the family moved to the United States in 1873. She had seven siblings. She attended Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin, and eventually graduated from Valparaiso University in Indiana.

Lundahl worked as a schoolteacher in East Chicago and retired at the age of 67. She never married nor had children. When asked about it, she explained that the issue wasn’t finding a man, stating, “I liked different men. That’s why I didn’t get married.” Until the age of 108, she lived independently, cooking and gardening for herself. In 1988, she was honored by the Colorado Commission on the Aging, and was presented with a certificate signed by the Governor of Colorado, Roy Romer.

Lundahl passed away at Applewood Living Center (now Linden Place Health and Rehabilitation) in Longmont, Colorado, USA, on 25 March 1989, at the age of 110 years, 95 days.
