BIOGRAPHY

Porter was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA, on 9 July 1907, to parents Thomas Donahue and Flora Kaiser. She had three sisters: Katherine Simpson, Agnes Donahue and Antoinette Donahue. At some point, she married Jeff Davis Porter. The couple did not have any children. She worked for many years with the Internal Revenue Service and later served as a secretary at Brookley Field.

On her 109th birthday, she resided at Somerby Senior Living Center in Mobile. The staff organized a birthday celebration for her, joined by friends from Holy Family Catholic Church. Porter attributed her longevity to her faith. As a devout Catholic, she continued attending church regularly until the age of 107.

Porter passed away in Mobile, Alabama, USA, on 22 March 2018, at the age of 110 years, 256 days.

RECOGNITION

At the time of death, she was the second-oldest (known) living person in the U.S. state of Alabama, behind Lucille Williamson.

Her age was verified by Jimmy Lindberg and Fabrizio Villatoro, and validated by LongeviQuest on 11 January 2024.
