BIOGRAPHY

Marie-Anne Lacombe was born in Saint-Édouard-de-Maskinongé, Quebec, Canada, on 11 March (claimed 10th) 1912. She was born as one of 12 children born to parents Wilfrid Lacombe (1889-1967) and Flore Carle (1887-1957).

In 1935, she married Arthur Doucet (1902-1984). The couple had seven children. In the 1940s, she moved to Louiseville. She drove a car until she was 94. At the age of 105, she said how the secret of her longevity could be in the fact that she was always occupied, saying “When you’re busy, it’s going well.” 

Marie-Anne Lacombe-Doucet died in Louiseville, Quebec, Canada, on 30 July 2022, at the age of 110. She was survived by five children, 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
