Lidia Menis Sava was an Italian-born Costa Rican supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO). At the time of her death, she was the oldest known living person in Costa Rica.

BIOGRAPHY

Lidia Menis Sava was born in Artegna, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy, on 30 November 1906. At some point in her life, she moved to Costa Rica. She got married and had at least one child.

Lidia Menis Sava passed away Santa Ana, San José Province, Costa Rica, on 22 September 2018, at the age of 111 years, 296 days.

RECOGNITION

On 20 December 2016, following the death of 110-year-old Francisca Castillo Carrillo, she became the oldest (known) living person in Costa Rica.

On 15 May 2022, her case was listed as pending validation by the Latin American Supercentenarians (LAS), with the ESO being credited. Her age was verified by “AC” (anonymous) and Alessandro Delucchi, and validated by the ESO on 1 April 2023.
