BIOGRAPHY

Maria Ida Simon was born in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana, USA on 4 April 1891, to parents Jean-Baptiste and Prudence Gallien. Her father later remarried to Alice Bellow, and would go on to have seven more children.

Between 1910 and 1920, she married Charles “Charlie” Simon, and the couple had five children together.

She passed away on 27 June 2003 at the age of 112 years, 84 days, having lived in Natchitoches, Louisiana for her entire life.
