Hide Endō (Japanese: 遠藤ひで) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest. She was the oldest living person in Shizuoka Prefecture.

BIOGRAPHY

Hide Endō was born in Japan on 13 January 1913.

At some point, Endō moved into a nursing home for the elderly in Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City. In 2021, local officials visited her and presented Shizuoka-made tea along with a congratulatory handwritten placard to celebrate her 108th birthday. At that time, she was the second-oldest person in Shimizu Ward. At the age of 110, she could still move around in her wheelchair unassisted and reportedly maintained a hearty appetite, especially for sweet treats like tea and coffee with sugar. According to her, the key to longevity was not being picky about food, eating well, and reading the newspaper every morning.

Hide Endō passed away in Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, on September 1, 2025, at the age of 112 years and 231 days. Following her passing, Yoshi Moriya of Izu City succeeded her as the oldest living person in the prefecture.
