Gertrudis Guerrero García

Gertrudis Guerrero García is a Mexican supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Latin American Supercentenarians (LAS). She is currently the third-oldest known living person in Mexico, after Susana Gutierrez Godoy and Martina Sanchez Soto.

Biography

Gertrudis Guerrero Garcia was born in Chiautla de Tapia, Puebla, Mexico on 27 April 1911. Her parents were both teachers. She had one daughter, who died at 3 days old.


She worked as a teacher since 1926, at the age of 15, for education of Elementary School. She was forced to retire at the age of 100 (she didn’t want to retire yet). The last years of her service as a teacher were given in the Leona Vicario Elementary School.

In April 2021, she celebrated her 110th birthday. At the age of 111, she is a bit deaf.

Guerrero Garcia currently lives in Chiautla de Tapia, Puebla, Mexico. She is currently the oldest known living person in Puebla state.
