George Feldman

George Feldman was an American supercentenarian who was believed to be the second-oldest known living man in the United States at the time of death, behind Richard Overton of Texas.

Biography

Feldman was born into a Jewish family, in Brooklyn, New York, USA on 2 December 1906. His parents had emigrated to New York City from the Russian Empire, more precisely the area between Kyiv and Odessa in the present-day Ukraine. In his youth, he helped his father in the family store. He graduated from the Syracuse University.

Feldman married twice, to Helen Price in 1937, and later to Renee Gettinger. He had three children and two stepchildren.

During the 1950s and 1960s, he was a principal of Long Island Mortgage Company, a housing and construction lender, and a principal of Mutual Mortgage Company. During his life, he worked as both a furniture salesman and as an accountant.

In December 2016, he celebrated his 110th birthday in the North Shore Towers and Country Club.

Feldman died in Queens, New York, USA on 2 December 2018, his 112th birthday. At that time, he had seven grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
