Carmen Bonilla Parra was born in Allende Municipality, Chihuahua, Mexico, on 6 July 1898. Her parents were Cruz Bonilla and Felipa Parra.

On 6 October 1916, at the age of 18, she married Jesus Jose Villanueva in her hometown. In the 1940s, the family emigrated to the USA and settled in El Paso, Texas.

Carmen Bonilla Parra de Villanueva died in El Paso, Texas, USA, on 9 March 2011, at the age of 112 years, 246 days.

RECOGNITION

Her age was validated by the Latin American Supercentenarians (LAS) in 2019.
