Zinaida Gavrilovna Chernova (Russian: Зинаида Гавриловна Чернова) is a Russian supercentenarian.
Zinaida Chernova was born in the village of Stepanovo, Permsky District, Perm Krai, Russia, on 11 October 1914. At the start of the First World War, her three older brothers went off to fight but never returned. When she was just 10 years old, her father also passed away, leaving no men in the family. To survive these difficult times, the family relocated to Altai Krai. They worked on a collective farm to make ends meet. As a child, she and her older sister labored in logging and wove bast shoes to sell as an additional source of income.
During World War II, she worked on a collective farm and later raised four children. In 1963, she moved to Kaltan to be with her daughter and son. She lived in her own house, managing the household independently. She had her own house and a vegetable garden, with the support of her husband and children. It was only in her late 90s, at the insistence of her relatives, that she finally moved into an apartment.
On her 100th birthday, representatives of the local administration delivered congratulatory messages from Russian President Vladimir Putin, Governor Aman Tuleyev, and the head of the Kaltan urban district, Igor Goldinov. She credited her longevity to hard work and the care of her loved ones.
At the time of her 110th birthday, three of her seven children were still living, and she had 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Her age has not been validated.
