BIOGRAPHY
Yvonne Guillaumin was born in the commune of Cesset in the Allier department in central France, on 28 October 1906. She taught sewing at Sidoine-Apollinaire High School in Clermont. Around 1993, she moved to the Charmilles nursing home.
Her passion for rugby dated back to the 1930s. To celebrate her 109th birthday, the staff at Charmilles surprised her with an ASM Clermont Auvergne ball signed by the players.
Yvonne Guillaumin passed away in Beaumont, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France, on 9 November 2017, at the age of 111 years, 12 days.
RECOGNITION
Guillaumin’s age has been validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO).
