BIOGRAPHY

Yvonne Filstroff was born in Pont-Sainte-Marie in the Aube department in north-central France, on 21 September 1904.

Yvonne met her husband, Marcel Filstroff, at a ball in Paris, and they married in 1930 after waiting a year. Both worked as fabric salespeople for a textile house in Roubaix. For the next 43 years, they lived in a two-room apartment with a kitchen near Porte d’Orléans in Paris. They had no children, as Yvonne was unable to conceive.

She lived in Paris until her husband’s retirement, then moved to Saint-Aubin-le-Cloud in 1973, settling into her home in the town’s newly built retirement village. She remained there until March 2013—first with her husband until his passing in 1991, and then alone.

Yvonne Filstroff passed away in the commune of Secondign in the Deux-Sèvres department in western France, on 12 January 2015, at the age of 110 years, 113 days.

RECOGNITION

Filstroff’s age was verified by Cyril Depoudent and Martin Miet (Les Grands Centenaires Français), and was validated by the ESO on 9 March 2021.
