BIOGRAPHY

Yvonne Delorme-Martel was born in Ham-Sud, Quebec, Canada, on 22 (claimed 21st) October 1909. Her parents were Gustave Delorme and Émilia Audit.

At some point, she married Enock Martel, with whom she had five children. She lived in the village of Stoke in Quebec for majority of her life, where she worked as a midwife, and farmed and practiced hunting and fishing to support her family.

At the age of 99, she moved into a nursing home.

Her younger sister, Simonne Delorme-Ducharme, passed away on 19 October 2016, aged 100.

Yvonne Delorme-Martel passed away in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, on 7 April 2022, at the age of 112 years, 167 days.

RECOGNITION

Following the death of Cecile Klein on 13 January 2022, Delorme-Martel became the oldest known living person born in Canada, and the oldest known living person in Quebec.

Her age was validated by LongeviQuest on 1 April 2023.
