Yoshi Moriya (Japanese: 森谷 よし) was a Japanese supercentenarian.

BIOGRAPHY

Yoshi Moriya (森谷よし) was born in Japan on 18 March 1913.

Yoshi Moriya passed away from natural causes on November 9, 2025, in Izu, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, at the age of 112 years and 236 days. Following her death, the oldest living person in Shizuoka Prefecture became the oldest living man in Japan, Kiyotaka Mizuno, while the oldest living woman in the prefecture is now Tama Ōishi.

 

RECOGNITION

On 1 September 2025, following the passing of 112-year-old Hide Endō of Shizuoka City, Moriya became the oldest living person in Shizuoka Prefecture.

Her age was verified by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW), as well as Ryohei Asano, and validated by LongeviQuest on 9 September 2025.
