Yone Kawabata was born in Miyakonojō, Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan, on 14 February 1913.

Yone Kawabata passed away in Miyakonojō, Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan, on 19 August 2023, at the age of 110 years, 186 days.

RECOGNITION

In September 2021, Kawabata was reported as the third-oldest living person in Miyazaki Prefecture, behind Hide Hamabe (born 3 December 1908) and Masae Kai (born 28 November 1912).

Following Hamabe’s death on 10 January 2023, she became the oldest living person in Miyazaki Prefecture.

Her age was verified by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW), as well as Takehiro Shibuya, Ryohei Asano, and Yu Li, and validated by LongeviQuest on 13 September 2023.
