Yolanda Estela Gugliotti was born in Burzaco, Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 3 October 1910. Her father had settled in Burzaco before her birth and established a warehouse there. Yolanda grew up in a modest home near the Burzaco Sports Club, one of eight siblings.
As an adult, she worked as a school cook. At the age of 22, she married her childhood neighbor, Armando Mellerio. Tragically, he passed away in the 1940s, leaving Yolanda to raise their 13-year-old son on her own. Her son would go on to have two children, and over the years, the family expanded to include five grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
In her later years, Yolanda lived at the Nueva Casa Grande care home in Burzaco. She celebrated her 110th birthday in October 2020, having become the oldest Argentine known to have recovered from both COVID-19 and the pneumonia it caused.
Gugliotti passed away on 1 July 2021 in Burzaco, at the age of 110 years, 271 days.
Her age was verified and listed as pending validation by the Latin American Supercentenarians (LAS) organization on 18 May 2021.
