Yaeko Shiota (Japanese: 塩田八重子) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.

BIOGRAPHY

Yaeko Shiota (塩田八重子) was born in Japan on 30 June 1899.

She lived in Kurashiki City and, from around 2007, was among the ten oldest people in Okayama Prefecture.

She passed away from heart failure on 30 July 2009 at a nursing home in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, Japan, at the age of 110 years and 30 days.

RECOGNITION

On 3 June 2009, following the death of Shitsuko Araki, she became the oldest living person in Okayama Prefecture at the age of 109. She is believed to have been the fourth person in the prefecture’s history to reach the age of 110.

Her age was verified by MHLW, Japan and Ryohei Asano, and validated by LongeviQuest on 27 March 2026.
