Pannuti was born in Bagaladi, Calabria, Italy, on 16 September 1860. She lived her entire life in the town, and married a man surnamed Cammera or Cammerata (sources differ). By the time she was 108 years old, she was a great-grandmother.
Pannuti died on 23 June 1971 at the age of 110 years, 280 days.
In 1968, Pannuti was presented with a medal by the local mayor to celebrate her longevity.
Pannuti became the oldest living person in Italy following the death of Giuseppina Misasi, 109, on 16 May 1970. Upon her own death, the title passed to Maria Imperiali (1863 – 1973). She was the first person in Italy to attain supercentenarian status, and the country’s longevity recordholder from 1970 until 1978.
Pannuti’s age was verified by Giovanni Alunni and Paolo Scarabaggio, and was validated by the GRG on 2 April 2014.
