Ursula Nathalia Magdalane Krigger (née Millin) was was a supercentenarian from the United States Virgin Islands.

BIOGRAPHY

Ursula Krigger was born in Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, on 22 April 1902. On her mother’s side, she was a member of the Moolenaar family, which allegedly originated in Germany. At the age of 12, she was stricken with typhoid fever and nearly died. Thanks to the care provided by her family and a doctor, she recovered after a month-long illness.

She spent her childhood at Estate Neltjeberg and began teaching at the age of 15 at the Bonne Resolution School on the North Side of St. Thomas. She later taught at the Moravian School on Back Street and the former Abraham Lincoln School. In the 1930s, she worked with the Virgin Islands Cooperative and also provided home schooling before marrying and retiring from public service.

She married Laurence Krigger in 1934, and the couple had two sons, Alaric and Ashton. She left her career as an educator to devote her time to raising and caring for them.

In September 2008, at the age of 106, it was reported that she could no longer see well, although she still enjoyed watching television. She listened to the radio and the news every day and remained lucid.

Ursula Krigger passed away in Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, on 10 September 2015, at the age of 113 years, 141 days.
