Tsuru Misawa (三澤 つる) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG), and recognized by LongeviQuest.

BIOGRAPHY

Tsuru Misawa was born in Japan on January 11, 1891.

She lived in Higashinada Ward, Kobe City, Hyōgo Prefecture until the Great Hanshin earthquake of 1995, but moved to Ashiya City after the disaster.

By September 2001, Misawa was the oldest living person inHyōgo Prefecture and the Kinki region. By September 2002, she was the sixth oldest living person in all of Japan.

Tsuru Misawa passed away due to heart failure in Ashiya City, Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan on September 21, 2002, at the age of 111 years, 253 days.

RECOGNITION

Her age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group. These findings were later recognized by LongeviQuest.
