BIOGRAPHY

Tsukiyo Tsuru was born in Japan on 28 January 1909.

At the age of 108, she fell and broke her femur, and underwent a surgery. After recovering, she was able to walk again. On her 112th birthday, she celebrated with her favorite sushi at the nursing home.

Tsukiyo Tsuru passed away in Sawara Ward, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, on 17 March 2021.

RECOGNITION

In September 2020, she was reported as the third-oldest living person in Fukuoka Prefecture, after Kane Tanaka and Yoshi Otsunari.

Her age was verified by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW), as well as Yu Li, Ryohei Asano and Yumi Yamamoto, and validated by LongeviQuest on 23 May 2023.
