Tsukimi Kishi was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest (LQ). She is the longevity recordholder for Tochigi Prefecture, having held the record since 2017. She was also among the top 10 oldest people in Japan at the time of her death.

BIOGRAPHY

Kishi was born in Tochigi City, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan, on 31 August 1905. On 12 October 2015, aged 110, she became the oldest living person in Tochigi following the death of 110-year-old Kame Saito of Utsunomiya. In July 2017, she surpassed the age of Yaita’s Aki Onozaki and broke her 8-year record to become the oldest person ever in Tochigi.

Kishi died on 19 March 2019 in Oyama, Tochigi, at the age of 113 years, 200 days. Her successor as Tochigi’s oldest living person was 110-year-old Sata Adachi of Moka.

RECOGNITION

Kishi was first recognized for her longevity in September 2013, during Keiro no hi (Respect for the Aged Day) in Japan, being reported as one of the oldest people in Tochigi. She was reported every year thereafter until 2018 and as the oldest Tochigi resident from 2016.
