Tomo Satō (Japanese: 佐藤トモ) was a Japanese supercentenarian.

BIOGRAPHY

Tomo Satō was born in Japan on 6 September 1904.

In September 2014, on the occasion of her 110th birthday and Respect for the Aged Day, she was visited by Shigeru Uchidate, the mayor of Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture. At the time, she was residing in a nursing home in Tamayama Ward, Morioka City.

Tomo Satō was last confirmed alive on 1 March 2016, at the age of 111 years, 177 days. She was a resident of Morioka, Iwate Prefecture.

RECOGNITION

In September 2014, she was the third-oldest living person in Iwate Prefecture, after Tae Ito and Tomoe Iwata.

Her age was verified by the MHLW, Japan, and validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) on 30 November 2015. The validation was later recognized by LongeviQuest.
