BIOGRAPHY

Nakayama was born in Japan on 5 June 1912.

Nakayama passed away in a nursing home in Mihara, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan, on 16 September 2023.

RECOGNITION

On 27 April 2023, following the death of 111-year-old Fusae Miyamoto, she became the oldest living person in Hiroshima Prefecture.

Following her death, Hisayo Nobuyasu (born 5 March 1913) succeeded her as the Prefecture’s oldest living resident. Nakayama was the last surviving person in the Prefecture born during the Meiji era.
