Toki Takagi (Japanese: 高木とき) was a Japanese supercentenarian who was the oldest living person in Aichi Prefecture at the time of her passing.
Toki Takagi (高木とき) was born in Tōei Town, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, on February 1, 1899.
She later moved to Shitara Town upon marriage.
In her later years, Takagi spent most of her time lying down in the living room of her home, and her greatest joy was watching professional sumo wrestling on television. She shared meals with her family, and even at the age of 109, she was still able to pick up simmered beans with chopsticks. Her favorite foods included meat and sashimi. In September 2008, when the town mayor visited her home, she wore a kimono to welcome him.
Takagi passed away from natural causes at her home on October 12, 2009, at the age of 110 years and 253 days. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living person in Aichi Prefecture. Following her passing, Nobu Abe of Tokai City succeeded her as the prefecture’s oldest living resident.
Her age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group on 12 November 2009 and later recognized by LongeviQuest.
