Thérèse Chevrat (née Herriau) is a French supercentenarian.
BIOGRAPHY
Therese Chevrat was born in the commune of Le Bourgneuf-la-Forêt in the Mayenne department in northwestern France, on 15 May 1916. Orphaned at the age of four, she was raised by her aunt and uncle, who fostered in her a lifelong love of sewing. During World War II, she worked in Versailles managing ration coupons while raising her son, Jean-Pierre, alone after her husband was taken prisoner of war.
She later retired to Frontenex. When asked about the secret to her longevity, she simply replied, “Listening to the accordion.”
