Takeko Miyazawa [Japanese: 宮澤たけ子] was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.

BIOGRAPHY

Takeko Miyazawa (宮澤たけ子) was born in Aoki Village, Nagano Prefecture, Japan, on 29 June 1913. After getting married in Osaka, she gave birth to a daughter in 1944, but tragically lost her husband to the war eight months later. Following this, she returned to her hometown of Aoki Village, where she lived with her daughter until her final days.

Until around the age of 100, Miyazawa remained physically active and worked in the fields. She was known for her dexterity and enjoyed sewing, including making kimono and Western-style clothing. However, around the age of 107, she suffered a cerebral hemorrhage, which made conversation difficult.

As of age 112, she lived with her daughter Tomiko, and received in-home care services. According to her daughter, Miyazawa’s longevity may be attributed to eating many locally produced eggs and maintaining a lifestyle that respects her natural rhythms, including sleep. Her daughter described her as “a hardworking and gentle mother” and expressed gratitude for her long life.

Miyazawa passed away on 23 February 2026 in Aoki Village, Nagano Prefecture, Japan, at the age of 112 years, 239 days.

Her age was verified by Nagano Prefecture and Ryohei Asano, and validated by LongeviQuest on 21 September 2025.
